Jean-Marc Lavoie started programming at 14 years old and hasn’t stopped since. He got his college technical degree in physics engineering followed by a bachelor degree in electrical engineering from École de Technologie Supérieure (ETS), during and after which he was a programming lecturer and also taught digital circuit design. Jean-Marc worked as a professional developer since 1998 in various domains such as telecommunication, building and raw materials, entertainment (Digital JukeBox), military, business process management, transportation, and manufacturing. While working full time as a developer and architect, he obtained a diploma of Higher Specialized Studies in software engineering in 2005. He founded SingularIT Solutions in 2007, through which he works as an architect and developer for large organizations. The same year, Jean-Marc was certified as Scrum Master. Believing in quality software products, he started doing Test Driven Development in 2000, he applied Continuous Integration for the last 15 years, and has always been an early adopter of Agile techniques and enabling tools (e.g. Continuous Deployment, Containers, Kubernetes), coaching his colleagues with enthusiasm along the way.
